Mid-Century French Hallmarked 18k Gold Engraved Ring
The inscription reads like a telegram from 1967: "YB-DL 2.9.67" carved into the inner surface of this rose gold band. Those initials belonged to two people who stood before someone on September 2nd of that year, a Saturday, likely in France given the eagle head hallmark stamped beside a maker's mark that itself contains a heart. The French jeweler who crafted this ring signed their work "P♥S" within the required diamond-shaped lozenge. The band carries star engravings around its exterior, geometric patterns cut deep enough that they've survived decades of daily wear. At 4 grams and notably wider than typical alliance rings of the period, it has presence without being ostentatious. The rose gold has aged into a warmth that comes from years worn lovingly against skin.
Star engravings circle the band; a heart hides in the maker's mark.
